At INTUS Smartcities, we believe we can make a positive impact in reducing the carbon footprint of municipalities around the world, and therefore, it is our duty to do so. With finite resources available to us on this planet, we must work on preserving them for generations to come. INTUS Smartcities focuses on reducing energy use, and the urban asset management and monitoring systems are a great way to see a ‘big picture’ of energy consumption. This can also drive decisions on how to cut back, since the systems have the ability to monitor variables such as fuel consumption of fleets, distances of travel, and other consumption related activities of mobile crews. Not only do the systems monitor energy consumption- they also monitor leaks and malfunctions in assets such as water pipes, sewers (which can create large pollution issues if leaks occur), street lights, and other systems. Even replacing all traditional street light bulbs with LEDs is another way we strive to make an impact.
