Multi-Level Infrastructure Data Collection, Integration, & Interrelation Data Analytics

Through multilevel infrastructure data collection and data analytics, INTUS Smartcities uses big data to make cities smarter.

Our Process

INTUS Smartcities and a third-party data hosting platform offer and co-market a complete GIS-based ERP system package for municipalities, which includes various add-on modules such as: urban asset management and monitoring, human resources, electronic work order management, mobile asset and fleet management, waste management, and electronic construction permitting, all integrated into one powerful dynamic system. This system is designed to navigate municipalities through the daily challenges of managing and protecting their infrastructure. Data from each module is interlinked, so that the end result is a feature-rich and dynamic asset management system.

INTUS Smartcities offers infrastructure data integration on GIS and Web-GIS hosting. This pertains to full digital representation of city infrastructure in the form of a Geographical Information System (GIS). An additional asset management system is then based on this GIS. All legacy maps data and as-builts of years of construction and maintenance records have to be converted and integrated into the GIS.

Our Reason

Under ‘The Underground Infrastructure Safety Enhancement Act’, or Bill S-229, municipalities in Canada will be required to register with a ‘One Call’ centre, which have been predominantly for the utilities in the past. Any registered operator is also now required to respond to locate requests by marking the location of their underground infrastructure on the ground or providing an accurate written description of their location. This means that digital maps with full integration of ‘as-builts’ will become a necessity to municipalities very shortly, and all data will need to be internet-enabled (i.e. web-GIS). Luckily, INTUS Smartcities’ has been mapping, collecting, and integrating this type of data for years with great accuracy and efficiency.
