Sewer Lateral Integrity Inspections and Mapping

Sewer laterals are the sewer lines that connect from homes to the sewer mains that are owned by the city. Sewer laterals do not belong to anyone (including the city), and therefore, they can be unmapped and in unknown locations. Sewer laterals are not typically in straight lines, as they work alongside gravity to transport material and may have irregular shapes, which poses a large threat to any sort of drilling, installation, or digging. These pipes can cause severe damage and explosions if hit by directional drilling or another source and an accident occurs. The need for sewer laterals to be inspected and mapped is without question, as they are around homes and populated areas. INTUS Smartcities performs these inspections, as well as real time mapping and integration of data into GIS, which can be used in urban management and monitoring systems.
