Powering the Panhandle: Our BEAD Program Plan for Texas

INTUS Smartcities has submitted its application for the BEAD program in Texas, with a focused plan to deliver essential high-speed fiber internet to over 10,000 homes. We are excited for the opportunity to bring future-proof connectivity to the heart of the Texas Panhandle.

Connecting the High Plains

Our three project areas are centered around Amarillo and its surrounding Panhandle communities. This is a region defined by its vast, open landscapes and powerful spirit of independence. We believe these communities deserve connectivity that matches their energy. Our network will be built with a thoughtful mix of underground and aerial infrastructure designed to respect the unique geography of the High Plains, bringing new opportunities for commerce and connection.

Project by the Numbers

Our pre-approved applications detail a significant and targeted investment:

  • Total Project Value: $48,095,242.62
  • BEAD Funding Requested: $36,071,431.96
  • Community Priority: Over 80% of our build will connect the region’s unserved and underserved populations.

More Than a Network: A Commitment to the Texas Workforce

Our commitment includes deep collaboration with local experts, including former White House staff and Texas-based legal teams, to ensure our projects are executed to the highest standard.

A core part of our mission is investing in the local workforce through our partnership with the CUTI Centre. We are dedicated to hiring locally for the construction and long-term maintenance of the network. We will also work with regional leaders to develop training programs, creating sustainable jobs and valuable technical skills within the Panhandle community.

This initiative is about providing opportunity and ensuring the communities of West Texas have the tools to thrive for generations to come.
