Future-Proofing Rural South Carolina: Our BEAD Program Initiative
INTUS Smartcities has submitted our application to the BEAD program in South Carolina, with a focused project to bring state-of-the-art fiber internet to over 6,200 homes. Our mission is to ensure that the rural communities that form the backbone of the state have the infrastructure needed to thrive in the digital age.
A Commitment to Underserved Communities
Our project is specifically designed to reach rural areas of South Carolina that are too often left behind by major infrastructure investments. We are making these communities our priority. By delivering reliable, high-speed fiber, we aim to unlock new opportunities for local businesses, provide access to modern education and healthcare, and connect families like never before.
Project by the Numbers
Our pre-approved application is tailored for maximum impact in these communities:
- Total Project Value: $18,200,000.00
- BEAD Funding Requested: $13,650,000.00
- Community Priority: Over 80% of the proposed build will connect unserved and underserved households.
More Than a Network: A Commitment to South Carolina’s Workforce
Executing this project correctly means working hand-in-hand with the community. We are actively engaged in partnerships with local leaders to ensure our efforts are aligned with the region’s needs.
A key part of our commitment is local job creation, guided by our partnership with the CUTI Centre. We will prioritize hiring from the local workforce for all phases of the project, from construction to long-term operations. Furthermore, we will work with regional stakeholders to develop training programs that provide residents with valuable skills for careers in the telecommunications industry.
This project is an investment in the people, prosperity, and future of rural South Carolina.
