Connecting Pennsylvania’s Communities: Our Vision for the BEAD Program
INTUS Smartcities is proud to announce our application to the BEAD program in Pennsylvania. Our plan is focused on delivering modern, high-speed fiber internet to over 6,400 homes in communities that have not seen the infrastructure investment they deserve.
A Focus on Community Infrastructure
Our project targets smaller communities across Pennsylvania, bringing state-of-the-art infrastructure with care and precision. We believe that every community, regardless of size, deserves access to the tools of the digital age. This network will provide a reliable foundation for local businesses to grow, for students to access world-class education, and for residents to utilize modern services like telehealth.
Project by the Numbers
Our pre-approved application is designed to deliver significant value:
- Total Project Value: $19,700,000.00
- BEAD Funding Requested: $14,775,000.00
- Community Priority: Over 80% of our deployment is targeted at connecting unserved and underserved homes.
More Than a Network: A Commitment to Pennsylvania’s Workforce
We believe that building infrastructure should also build up the local economy. We are working closely with local leaders in Pennsylvania to ensure our project is a true community partnership.
In collaboration with the CUTI Centre, we are committed to workforce development. This means prioritizing local hiring for both the construction and ongoing maintenance of the fiber network. We will also partner with regional organizations to create training programs that offer pathways to skilled, long-term careers in the infrastructure sector for Pennsylvanians.
This initiative is about opportunity, equity, and future-proofing the vibrant communities across the Commonwealth.
